ERP for educational centers

Wise Consultoria, GeneXus distributor in Brazil, has incorporated some of the new features offered by GeneXus version 7.5 to its ERP system for educational centers.

The system is used by 50 educational centers among which we find Escuela Superior de Propaganda y Marketing (ESPM) with more than 10 thousand students. ESPM entrusted PriceWaterhouse&Coopers with selecting and implementing a system for handling the management of the educational center. The consulting company chose Wise and its ERP.
The software deals with academic and financial management, and enables Web queries in order to smooth the students way into life in the educational center school to university- with the "any time, anywhere" concept.
Students have access to their notes, important memos, payment status, general information, and they are able to request documents through Internet. Faculty can enter grades through the Web and have access to all the abovementioned functions. "Concerning technology, we use GeneXus version 7.5, WEBPROCS generating XML output for data, and we use templates in XSL for the final interface. This allows us to have a more flexible Web query layout for Web designers, which gives them total freedom for creating new XSL templates", Alexandre Castanha, from Wise Consultoria, explained.
The new XML Writer data and procedures with XML output "which make it possible to send report data and procedures from a file with XML format" are two of the new features incorporated by GeneXus 7.5 that have been used for this development. Besides, GeneXus 7.5 also enables generation of XML from print block content. It is thus possible to create a file with XML format in a simple way, without having to use low-level functions. Wise used the Visual Fox generator for generating the ERP, and the Java generator and the new GeneXus C# generator for the software's Web interface.
