G-Mant in Panama

It took BCN only a week to install G-Mant - the preventive and corrective maintenance management software, developed with GeneXus, for the maintenance of the Pepsi distribution company truck fleet in Panama.

Refrescos Nacionales SA, one of the companies in the Cervecería Nacional group (www.cerveceria-nacional.com) that distributes Pepsi and other drinks in Panama, has installed G-Mant - the maintenance management software –developed by the Uruguayan company BCN- to control the operation of the 250 trucks and the three garages involved in the distribution.

In just a week BCN implemented the system and trained the computer and maintenance personnel of the Panamanian company. The trainining was carried out by entering the real data of the company in the initial load, after the coding of the existent machines had been defined, said Graciela Albornoz, responsible for the implementation. Among other things, the system allows them to obtain information about the availability of the vehicles, as well as the time and cost while the trucks are at a standstill.
In addition to that, G-Mant –interacting with the distribution and production system- enables them to gather financial information that is used in the decision-making process in other areas of the company. For example, the software management enables them to make cost projections and compare the costs of maintenance, all of which they needto know in order to decide a purchase.
The preventive and corrective maintenance software G-Mant, developed with GX by BCN has been installed in 31 companies in
Uruguay and 7 companies abroad. It was developed with the Visual Fox Pro GeneXus 6.0 generator and is used in the industrial and service sectors. These are some of the companies that use G-Mant: in the telecommunication sector, Antel (state telecommunication company); in the fuel sector, Riogas and Acodike (distributors of liquid gas); in the food sector, Los Nietitos, Fripur and El Trigal; in local government, hospitals and hotels (Municipality of Montevideo, Sociedad Española, Hospital de Clínicas, Hotel Conrad).
