GeneXus in Corriere dello Sport

Corriere dello Sport uses an IT system developed in GeneXus in order to handle the advertising management of the group, which has six publications in Italy. GX Italia will present this case at the XIII GeneXus International Meeting.

"S.I.P. - Sistema Integrato Pubblicit->" (Advertising Integrated System) is an IT project created by Data El.Co. in  GeneXus for the Corriere dello Sport editorial group, a sports newspaper with headquarters in Rome and distribution throughout Italy.
Apart from "Corriere dello Sport," the group publishes a newspaper, "Tutto Sport," a weekly motoring publication called "Auto Sprint," a monthly publication on rally tournaments called "Rally Sprint," a semi-annual magazine about the motoring world called "Auto Kit," and a monthly publication for motorcycle lovers, "In Moto."

The S.I.P. system is in charge of managing the advertising for all of the group's publications. The process begins with the signature of the sale contract with end clients, goes on to the gathering of data concerning the publications made, and the transmission of the text and materials concerning the advertising plan and the checks made on its publication.

Once published, it enables immediate invoicing, credit management through a series of statistical data, management of accounts pending, credit limit checks, and commission payment to agents.

S.I.P. was totally developed with GeneXus, generated in two layers with the Java generator. It is currently being used in the Roma, Milan, Torino, and Bologna branches. The system is connected to the ACG IBM to which it sends accounting data corresponding to invoicing and collection management; it uses the i-Series platform database (DB2/400) , and Java on the client side. GXplorer is the tool selected for data crossing and statistical analysis.
