GeneXus presentation at the 2009 COMMON Annual Meeting & Exposition (USA)

On April 28 at 2 p.m. during the Common 2009 Annual Meeting & Exposition (annual meeting taking place on April 26-30 in Nevada, United States), there will be a session called Web 2.0 Development for DB2 Using GeneXus.

It will be hosted by Roy Hart and Daniel Coellar, from GeneXus USA, and will be aimed at developers using IBM AS/400, iSeries (OS/400, AIX and Linux operating systems).

During this session an invoicing application will be developed from scratch using DB2 as DBMS, WebSphere as Web Application Server and Java as the language (using AJAX). Database automatic refactoring, pattern-based development, drag & drop controls, etc. will be shown. The robustness and productivity benefits of using GeneXus as the application framework will be demonstrated. In addition, the same application will be generated for SQL Server 2005, C# (.Net) as the programming language and IIS as the Web Application Server, demonstrating the portability capability of a GeneXus solution; a 5250 RPG ILE Green Screen simple example will also be created using GeneXus.

Learning objectives:

1. Understand the basics of creating a Web 2.0 application using GeneXus. The GeneXus RAD methodology will be demonstrated.
2. Attendees will be given a CD containing a free trial, Quick Start Step-by-Step Tutorial, and 3 hours of video basic GeneXus training.
3. Understand the productivity benefits of using GeneXus as a cross-platform development tool.
