GeneXus Server, which was released together with GeneXus X Evolution 1, automates the integration of knowledge and significantly improves the teamwork ability of GeneXus developers by making collaboration possible in all kinds of development scenarios.
Main Features
Stability and reliability in the integration process
The automatic integration of changes and simple methodology make it possible to work with maximum stability and reliability.
Ability to undo changes
GXserver is based on a work method that makes it possible to undo changes and return to a previous version of the project if necessary. Thus, information is never lost.
Information integrity, reliability and security
GXserver provides in-depth knowledge of the information residing in a KB, which guarantees the consistency and integrity of knowledge at all times, avoids data loss and makes it possible to have monitoring information that accurately represents reality at the time of auditing.
Easier monitoring
GXserver makes project monitoring easier, as well as more comprehensive and dynamic. You can view a brief description, recent activity and progress information of a project without getting sidetracked by technical details, all in a user-friendly web user interface.
Extensibility
GXserver can be integrated into any platform that consumes Web Services.
In addition, any company or work group can implement their policies or methodologies as needed for each project or the company as a whole.
Remote access
The ability to access GXserver remotely makes it an ideal candidate for any work team, including those whose developers work from different offices or even different countries
Update independence
With GXserver, every developer is free to decide when to send his/her individual contributions or revisions to be consolidated into the group project, and to receive the changes published on the server by other team members.
Promotions, Licensing and GXserver Subscription
GXserver can be purchased either through traditional licensing or as a service (SaaS): GXserver Subscription.
In the case of GXserver Subscription, its services will be available on the cloud and clients will be able to use them by paying a monthly fee. Promotions have been created to benefit the first ones who hire it using this model, and special discounts are available for those who participated in the Beta Test process of GeneXus X Evolution 1.
GXserver Subscription is offered in three editions:
• Enterprise: The client is entitled to exclusive use of GXserver, with support for up to 20 KBs and up to 50 users. It can be distributed in two spaces, each one with its own setup of User Controls, Patterns and GXextensions. URLs can use the client's exclusive domain. The service includes automatic daily backups.
• Professional: The client is entitled to exclusive use of the KBs, but GXserver is shared with other users. It supports up to 5 KBs and up to 10 users, as well as automatic weekly backups.
• Public: It’s a free service in which the KBs are public, that is, they can be accessed by all members of GXtechnical.
