Coplana, the Cooperative of Sugar Cane Growers of the Zone
of Guariba, developed a BI application to give support to decisions using
GXplorer to take maximum advantage of applications generated by all its systems
in GeneXus.
The Business Intelligence system developed with GXplorer
contemplates eight administration areas: technical services, financial services,
human resources, purchasing, sales, stock, production and warehousing services.
There are 28 managerial visions divided in approximately 25 dimensions, such as:
time, product, branch, cooperative member, supplier and others.
A few years ago the cooperative converted all its Cobol
systems to GeneXus. "All the systems are in GeneXus , and we did not meet any
difficulties in the transition at any point, on the contrary, the team completed
the implementation without any inconvenience for the company, the users or the
customers", said Renata Cristina Venturin de Miguel, systems analyst of Coplana,
expressing her satisfaction for the results. "With GeneXus there were
considerable development and maintenance time gains", she added. "All Coplana
systems are currently made with GeneXus", stated Rogério Aparecido de Miguel,
Coplana's data processing manager.
With the new BI system the financial area counts on safe
decision making elements such as: expense variation analysis services, solvency
position, ABC analysis and position of expenses. The history of prices paid for
grains, purchasing and payments in installments flow, ABC position of suppliers
and customers, sales targets follow-up, non-movement products, purchasing
frequencies, daily peanut production summary, analysis of seasons and payment
receipts compared indexes, are some of the pieces of information available for
the administration of the cooperative.
After developing this IB system with Gxplorer, the next
step will be to make this information available on the Web.
Coplana was established in 1963 and is based in Guariba,
in the interior of the state of Sao Paulo in Brazil. It is formed by over 1600
sugar cane, soy, corn and fruit producers and cattle raisers, and has points of
sale for agricultural and veterinary products and grain storage facilities in
the local governments of Jaboticabal, Taquaritinga, Dumont and
Pradópolis.
