Banco Integración de Paraguay is engaged in implementing a
significant technological change in order to become the domestic market leader.
The strategy aims at improving service to customers and users providing quick
access to information.
The company Horizonte SRL that has advised Banco
Integración in the area of technology since the year 1995, recommended GeneXus
to face the challenge of leaving behind green screens of programs developed in a
native AS/400 environment, for a competitive Web environment software.
"When evaluating needs for improvement and new products,
we looked at the cost of restructuring and found it was too high. For this
reason, the option of implementing a more advanced and widely used technology
was totally justified", remarked Blas Riquelme of Horizonte SRL.
The Banking solution developed using GeneXus enables Banco
Integración users and customers to perform all kinds of banking transactions and
to access various benefits, queries and home banking services.
The solution operates in a Java environment, mixed WEB and
WIN, uses Websphere as applications server and DB2/400 as DBMS.
Riquelme said that a critical factor was that "the
implementation of the solution was very fast and without traumatic migration
processes".
"The success of the solution has fully met our
expectations, and we are currently working on new projects with GeneXus", he
said.
