HTS developed a program for installing the Nous production’s control and management system, called Nous Wizard, which began use last year. Nevertheless, when facing the Nous 2000 version’s launching, the enterprise was determined to develop a language for writing installing programs, instead of dedicating effort to improve the former one. ‘A month and a half ago we finished this language’s prototype. GAT, as we call it, is technically, a generator of installing programs, from a very high level language’, Justo Miranda from HTS outlined. ‘With this language, we have built what had taken us four years to actually do, in a month. There’s no need to say that, apart from the language, acquired experience and knowledge were considered’, he added.

Wizard allows programming and executing the different phases of the installing process, with a language of a high level because the commands are automatically turned into programs. ‘It has the capacity for making decisions as the project advances. It’s not experience, but the knowledge the Wizard generator has, which allows programming different alternatives, according to what it requires. This is necessary because a system’s installation is a complicated process, not a lineal one’, Miranda explained.

Nous is commercialized in Uruguay, Colombia, Spain, Mexico and Argentina and Nous Wizard inaugurates its use outside HTS this week in Mexico.

Why is the Wizard generator useful?

To design and assist the execution of the whole start up process of any management computing system, from initial tasks of fixing objectives up to initial debits’ load, leaving the system ready to be used. This process can also be simulated, for example, in order to train more consultants, like in other areas with the enterprises’ games or flight simulators.

Who uses it today?

Nowadays, only HTS and its partners in the Mexican project, GeneXus Iberica and VMCI. In this web, they are starting to work with the goal of developing a Wizard for the whole ERP’s installation. The ERP is composed by three large knowledge bases, production provided by HTS and commercial and accounting provided by GeneXus Iberica. VMCI provides all the services that are needed to reach excellence. We have already developed the production Wizard here. In Mexico, they will develop the Wizards that correspond to the other two systems. We think that they will be ready in one or two months. It is incredible that the first users of the language (apart from HTS) are two foreign enterprises, but- this is the magic of our times.

Will it be commercialized to other enterprises that are not associated with HTS?

Yes, and we have already done some steps in order to facilitate that. We think that in the near future it will be even necessary to create an enterprise specially dedicated to that.
