| Laboratorio de Sistemas (LSI) and DMR are two new GeneXus distributors in the Spanish market. They have joined GeneXus Ibérica, which has been working in this market for the last eight years. |
"We want to strengthen GeneXus' presence in Spain," said Gerardo Pizarro, ARTech's Channels Manager. "We are expecting a 50% growth for the first year." Pizarro also explained that LSI and DMR have been members of the GeneXus community for years -since 1992 and 1997 respectively- and have gained experience in sales and in the product itself.
DMR Sistemas, run by Antonio Mangado, is an IT consulting and service company, founded in 1989, which offers solutions for areas such as business management and information technology. It is an IBM Service Partner and is located in Logroño, with offices in Madrid. The company received the national quality award from IBM in 1992 and 1994, and has been ISO 9001 compliant since August 2000.
In 1999 DMR founded dmrNET e-solutions, a startup which has focused on providing e-business solutions. Antonio Mangado explained that this year, "after ARTech Consultores S.R.L appointed the company as its product distributor, a branch was set up in Madrid in order to specifically spread the GeneXus technology from a place that is key for technology-related decision making in Spain.
Laboratorio de Sistemas (LSI), run by Nelson Huertas, with headquarters in Palma de Mallorca, has not only become a new GeneXus distributor in Spain, but is also a wholesale distributor of GeneXus QUERY and GXplorer in the country.
LSI will introduce GeneXus QUERY in its LSIalmac product -a vertical business and financial system for distributors of construction materials- which it has already commercialized together with the GXplorer Data Warehouse technology.
"LSI is made up of a group of software companies in Catalonia (Ten Group), one of which (AISI) has just incorporated GeneXus as a strategic tool for getting down to the core of new technologies. This company is in charge of the distribution of LSI/almac in Catalonia," said Nelson Huertas.
"With LSI's support, AISI is introducing the Data Warehouse technology into its AS/400 installed base. It will also promote the introduction of GeneXus QUERY in this base with the help of GeneXus QUERY in LSI/almac as a base for practical demonstrations.".
Huertas stressed that, "The success obtained with this kind of support in Catalonia is a green light for LSI's plans to promote GeneXus in the whole Iberian area."
