Now you can follow GeneXus on Google Buzz

The initiative is aimed at adding a new communication channel with the Users Community and increasing GeneXus' presence in social networks such as Facebook, Orkut, Twitter, Vimeo and YouTube.
Last week Google officially introduced Buzz, its own initiative in the world of social networks in addition to their acquisition of Orkut a few years ago. The shortest way to describe it is that Buzz is an easy and quick way to interact with friends and share content from Gmail's own interface.
The innovative service is presented as a new and effective channel for communication and collaboration 2.0, and that's why GeneXus already has its own Buzz. If you have a Google account you can follow our updates and activities on this service. In order to do this, you only have to visit our profile on this link and click on the button labeled Follow.
With this decision, GeneXus expands its presence in social networks. In addition to Google Buzz, you can also follow us on Facebook, Flickr, LinkedIn, Orkut, Twitter, Vimeo and YouTube.
Google Buzz
In relation to this release, the Google team made this statement on their blog: “With more and more communication happening online, the social web has exploded as the primary way to share interesting stuff, tell the world what you're up to in real-time and stay more connected to more people. In today's world of status messages, tweets and update streams, it's increasingly tough to sort through it all, much less engage in meaningful conversations.”
For this reason, they added that “our belief is that organizing the social information on the web — finding relevance in the noise — has become a large-scale challenge, one that Google's experience in organizing information can help solve. We've recently launched innovations like real-time search and Social Search, and today we're taking another big step with the introduction of a new product: Google Buzz.”
Buzz is built into Gmail, so you don’t have to create a new contact list from scratch, but just like in Twitter, you have to follow and be followed. Google Buzz will be displayed as a new tab and updates will be downloaded to your inbox. Its interface is very similar to the Facebook wall.
There you can publish status updates, share links and photo albums, "like" items, send them by email and view what others are publishing. It all happens in real time and without the 140-character restriction imposed by Twitter.
On a more complex level we can also say that it’s also a content aggregator: you can integrate Twitter, Flickr, Picasa, YouTube and Google Reader. Initially, Google Buzz will also be available for phones running the Android operating system and for iPhone.
