Solur Strengthens Truck to Run on Oracle 10g

Oracle's Partner Journal published an article announcing the migration plan of Truck, the logistics and distribution solution. ARTech will take part in the operation to guarantee that GeneXus optimizes the use of the Oracle.

Based in Uruguay, Solur is a major software development company for the Latin American market. Truck, one of its products, is a high capacity system for managing the complexity of product logistics and distribution operations. Major companies across the Americas such as FritoLay (Pepsico distributor), and many of the largest regional beverage distributors use it. Truck is an application developed using GeneXus, the application generation tool created by the Uruguayan company ARTech. GeneXus models a system's logic, so the code can be generated for different technologies.

Solur has decided to maintain the generation tool, and has selected the Java platform on the Oracle platform as the new development standard. An ambitious plan has been defined to achieve the full migration of Solur to the Oracle 10g platform. The plan will be carried out in conjunction with ARTech to guarantee that the code generator optimizes its use of the Oracle platform. This will also give GeneXus users access to Oracle technology, thus ensuring the best conditions for those developments that use the Oracle 10g platform.
