GeneXus USA Event 2007 - 100

USA Event

During the GeneXus USA Event, presentations dealt with GeneXus latest developments as well as with the Community, alternating current and radiators.
The GeneXus USA Event was a true success; and one of its mainstays was USA GeneXus Community. The over 80 participants attended important presentations on GeneXus, but, above all, exclusive and interesting seminars by keynoters and customers, who shared their success stories.

Besides sharing and receiving information on GeneXus Rocha, GXportal and other GeneXus technologies, this year GeneXus USA introduced a new way of working with all customers interested in the development of a case study on the basis of its GeneXus experience. All interested customers are now able to work with a written case and develop its history, which will be displayed on the GeneXus USA Web site as well as on the customer’s Internet portal.

Armando Cardoso, GeneXus USA Support Manager, participated in the GeneXus USA Event and underlined: “I personally believe it was a fantastic event; the number of participants and success stories increase year by year. This was quite a special occasion, as we now introduced the new version of GeneXus.”

Two amazing cases were presented on this occasion: the 1800 - Radiator, by Ben Say, the company CIO; and the other from EE Micronix by Reba Archer, Vice President of Information Systems. Both cases are somehow connected by the way in which GeneXus has helped them face and overcome the challenges posted by technology, as well as by the way in which their companies keep on adapting and evolving with the new GeneXus technologies. According to Cardoso, Ben Say –CIO of 1800 Radiator- “told the story based on why he chose GeneXus, after evaluating several tools, including the possibility of outsourcing through other software development companies for the development of its applications. This company needed to migrate Clipper applications to the Web. At the same time there are php applications which also needed to be migrated in order to be in keeping with the significant development of the company in the USA market. Last year Ben attended the USA event as prospective client, and there, after listening to the several statements of current customers and the support provided to GeneXus, he came to the conclusion that GeneXus was the tool he was looking for”. In her presentation, Reba Archer made reference to these ever-changing times and how GeneXus is the appropriate tool to face them.

Undoubtedly, this Event is a significant landmark for GeneXus USA Community, not only to introduce new technologies and share testimonials, but also because it provides a valuable opportunity for all customers to learn from each other and help get the best from GeneXus.
