Xerox Uruguay S.A. improves it’s management with GeneXus

A system for sales management, credit authorizations, equipment deliveries, contracts control, invoicing and automatic generation of accounting entries, has allowed Xerox Uruguay S.A. to have a more efficient management.

A system for sales management, credit authorizations, equipment deliveries, contracts control, invoicing and automatic generation of accounting entries, has allowed Xerox Uruguay S.A. to have a more efficient management, and minimize WorkFlow, as well as securing the data’s storage and access. The system was developed in GeneXus, and installed by ‘Ing. Alvaro de León & Asociados’, ARTech’s Solution Partner since 1998.

The accountant, Enrique Núñez, General Manager of Xerox Uruguay S.A., outlined that, “deciding the development and implementation of significantly important systems when using traditional tools is always difficult because of the cost and time factors that are involved.  Having used the adequate technology, has allowed us to develop quickly, while involving the users from the beginning, and making them feel like an integral part of the process. Because of this, we have been able to implement the system securely, without any tensions from inside the corporation”.

To develop this system, Xerox made the decision to utilize electronic authorizations as handwritten signatures. This decision, together with other designing criteria, has minimized the use of paper for the management of sales (the paper process was cut by an estimated 90%). The quantities of manual controls were also considerably reduced, because the database is unique and normalized, and the controls’ maximum possible is done at the moment of entering or modifying data. Xerox Uruguay S.A. won the Quality National Prize in 1995, and has carried on with continual development of improvements.
