GeneXus in Toronto, Canada

GeneXus recently gave a presentation at the University of Toronto's Bahen Centre for Information Technology as part of an ongoing series of discussions organized by the Colombian Canadian Professional Association (CCPA), with support from the DEEDS Project

"It wasn't easy deciding on the first presentation since there are so many software products available. But with the value of this product what could be better than beginning with GeneXus?" remarked Bernardo Riveras, president of the CCPA Board of Directors.

The goal of the CCPA conference series was to bring together IT professionals from different areas for an opportunity to network and learn about new products available that can directly benefit them and the companies they represent. Since most Hispanic IT professionals in Toronto are involved with system applications and development, it was a logical choice to use this as the introductory topic.

"The presentation was designed to help explain the new paradigm in software development that uses the concept of a knowledge base for database design" stated speaker Sandro Gallo, Senior GeneXus Consultant in Canada. Gallo continued, "& there are many IT professionals here in Toronto that work for both small and large corporations and this type of information session provides them with the opportunity to learn more about both GeneXus and ARTech products and how they provide not only a logical fit for their firms but a tremendous value when applied to their existing applications and databases."

One of the attendees remarked: "I rate GeneXus as an extremely powerful tool. The conference provided not only a good explanation of GeneXus but a clear overview of their suite of products and how they are a value add' when applied to existing applications and systems. This will definitely motivate participants to test the trial version."

"After listening to the positive feedback from this conference, not only will we repeat the presentation but we will add a workshop for the trial version and with the numerous requests we have received we will also offer it for those who could not attend." said one of the organizers.

Toronto and the greater surrounding area is Canada's economic powerhouse. Not only are there a large number of software firms that make their home in the immediate area but the market they serve is huge and will directly benefit from the GeneXus suite of products if they were to incorporate them within their existing IT strategies.

This presentation was made possible thanks to: CCPA, DEEDS Project (Documents of Essex England Data Set), GeneXus Inc. and ARTech.
