II GeneXus Mexico Meeting Gathers over 400 Attendees

Participants included IBM, Microsoft, and ARTech's clients in Mexico --Grupo Modelo, E-Siglo-Fira, Emi Music and Mabe-- as well as Breogán Gonda, ARTech's President.

Over 400 participants
On November 5, more than 400 people gathered at the II GeneXus Mexico Meeting that took place in the Constelaciones C room at the Nikko Hotel. Mr. Sergio Gazzolo, General Manager for ARTech Mexico, opened the meeting by going through last year's activities. Then, Gerardo Pizarro, ARTech's Business Development Manager presented the business opportunities offered by GeneXus 8.0, the latest GeneXus version.


IBM and Microsoft
Mr. Roberto Tellez, IBM i-Series Product Manager, showcased the technologies and options offered by i-Series for creating new dynamic e-business applications. He also presented the WebSphere product family, designed by IBM in order to support these new applications.
After the coffee break, Mr. Eduardo Nava, Manager at Microsoft Mexico, shared Microsoft's strategy for Web services-based connectivity: Microsoft .NET.

ARTech Mexico's clients
The morning sessions ended with a presentation of success cases by Juan Carlos Padilla, Systems Director at Model Group (GeneXus, Java, AS/400); Agustín Ugalde, Director General at E-Siglo - Fira (GeneXus, .NET, Microsoft); Alejandro Penna, Systems Sub-director at Emi Music (GXPortal); and Armando López, Automation Manager at Mabe (GXPortal).

GeneXus: Business, technology and the future
Right after lunch, Alfonso Berriel, GeneXus Consulting Commercial Manager, presented the "GeneXus Applications Worldwide" program. Gonzalo Echagüe, Special Projects Manager, discussed the technical innovations of GeneXus 8.0: more web capabilities, more integration, more platforms, and more power. Mr. Breogán Gonda, ARTech's President, closed the event by sharing with participants his vision of the future.
