ARTech signed an agreement with ANTEL, the state
telecommunications company in Uruguay, to supply GXportal technology to develop
the company's Integrated Corporate Portal. ANTEL will act as GXportal beta
tester, especially to facilitate the incorporation of the new functionalities
agreed upon.
ANTEL seeks to boost the Web channel as a service and
sales means by implementing a Corporate Portal with GXportal. In this way, it
will ensure an increase in efficiency in the commercial relationship with
business clients, suppliers and customers.
As a result, the state company will be able to optimize
the communication and timely flow of information, with different interaction
levels according to the business' needs, preferences and rules.
The agreement was signed on August 26th, in a ceremony
attended by Graciela Pérez Montero, CPA, ANTEL's President; Dr. Simón Erlichman,
ANTEL's Vice-President; Dr. Oscar Aníbal González Álvarez, ANTEL's Director;
Eng. Breogán Gonda, ARTech's President, and Gerardo Pizarro, ARTech's Business
Development Manager, at the Telecommunications Tower in Montevideo.
At the ceremony, González Álvarez pointed out the
importance of a Corporate Portal with state-of-the-art technology for ANTEL.
In addition, Eng. Gonda stated that "ARTech serves more
than 4500 companies -many of them of large scale- all around the world, and is
pleased that ANTEL has decided to go with national technology. ARTech will also
offer ANTEL the possibility to have its portal constantly updated, regardless of
the Internet technologies used in the future."
Moreover, ARTech's President highlighted the growth of the
GeneXus market in the world, especially in China and Japan.
