- What is Planet GX?
It’s a blog aggregator (a single page where articles from different sources are published).
Though Planet GeneXus is already functioning, we thought it necessary to have this tool in GeneXus for use by the GeneXus Community, just like GXopen or the forumsr. The reason for reinventing the wheel is to have “wheels made in GeneXus”. Maybe it’s because of our pride in doing it or because “indeed, it can be done in GeneXus”, it’s probably that in part also.
- How did the idea of creating it come up?
It was someone’s idea for the CP 2.0, and in the projects auction of GUG Montevideo it appealed to us as something interesting to implement so, there: sold to us !!!
- What motivated you to participate in the second edition of Collaborative Projects 2.0?
The fact of being part of the Community is not new to us. It is our way of being integrated and we usually always participate in initiatives for the benefit of all. We believe that as more participants take part in the CP 2.0, more resources will be available for enriching our daily activity. In some way, the products that result from this type of initiatives are those that generate net worth for the whole community.
- What are the challenges involved in your project?
Studying how a tools works, technologies, standards and protocols that imply making the tool something functional and useful. Because our team includes the planet manager (Federico Wagner), that gives us the vision and the needs that other managers will encounter who decide to install the tool. Adding new capabilities is one of our objectives, always keeping in mind the consumption of resources. We think that after implementing the basics, the issue will be to “weigh” the new aspects and see the possibilities for carrying them out.
- What are your expectations in relation to CP 2.0?
Accomplish all the stages necessary, and having something useful, attractive for readers, that will facilitate operations for the manager. And something that after completion might stand out in its category in regards to other implementations by third parties.
