GeneXus 7.5 RC has been released

The GeneXus 7.5 version rounds off the tool with regards to Internet use. The features incorporated from the GeneXus 7.0 version -Webtransactions, HTTP data, call soap, embedded pages, etc- complete the upcoming GeneXus version for its use in Internet-related developments.

The GeneXus 7.5 Release Candidate, incorporates the SOAP protocol as a communication standard between client/server applications and the stored processes making it possible to choose SOAP as an invocation protocol for any procedure or report, which makes the implementation of Web services easier.

The release candidate of the next GeneXus version introduces a new form of defining environments in a model, based on certain model characteristics such as language used, interface type, and DMBS.

In  version 7.0,  both Java and C/SOL generators allowed users to establish more than one simultaneous connection from a program to different databases (from different manufacturers). Version 7.5 expands this advantage to Visual Basic and Visual FoxPro generators.

In order to make the programming of some applications features easier, based on the concept of object orientation, new data  types have been incorporated: WebWrapper, WebSession, ExcelDocument, WordDocument, XmlWriter, XmlReader, MAPISession, OutlookSession, POP3Session, SMTPSession, MailRecipient, MailMessage, HttpRequest, HttpResponse y HttpClient.

In order to display the content of any URL in web objects generated with GeneXus, the GeneXus 7.5 RC version incorporates 'Embedded Pages'. This version introduces the HTML format to generate the HELP for applications that can be packed in a single CHM format file,  making it possible to execute searches and  to define indexes, with all the characteristics brought along by this feature.

Besides, reports in GX 7.5 RC have a new exit format: PDF, which is multi-platform and allows for visualization of reports in the Web. Also, the value "Create Static Panels on request" has been added, to generate SSP (Smart Static Panels) upon demand.

Also, Setup Wizard 7.5 Release Candidate was released yesterday. It makes the generation of Setups for GeneXus 7.5 version possible; it has already started the betatest process.
