GeneXus distance training

ARTech released the first course at distance -which you can already get through the Internet- and the initial version of the new training Web site where you can find all the information regarding GeneXus courses that ARTech provides.

ARTech’s objective is to have distance training for the new technologies, because technologies evolves very fast and this is a tool to keep the foreign people up to date’, Alejandra Pereiro, the training manager, explained.
These courses are directed to foreign GeneXus sub-distributors and clients, but they are also an option for those people who live in Uruguay and that for time reasons cannot attend the courses.
The course that is already available on the Internet is the ‘Development of applications for the Internet with GeneXus’ course that allows developing applications for the Internet using the GeneXus Web Panel object. As in the classes, the course involves the theoretical and practical aspects. In this case, the practical part consists of developing an application for the Internet in GeneXus, following the steps of a filmed demo (avis files) with which you interact as the courses’ contents goes on. ‘The idea is that you execute the steps that you see on the film in GeneXus, and that the doubts or difficulties that may arise are solved in the interaction with a teacher through e-mails as the course develops’, Pereiro explained.
The release of the courses on the Internet takes place together with the first Training site’s version’s release (http://www.genexus.com/training/ttrain.htm) where you may get those courses via Web, through the payment by credit card (VISA). Once the material has been bought and is available it is not necessary to be online to go on the course, you do it locally on your PC. The course may be downloaded from the Web or you may ask for the CD that contains it if you preferred it. The courses’ cost is the same as the normal courses. You may take these courses at any time, each person has his own studying rhythm, but there is an established term to send the teacher any doubts that you might have, after you buy it, according to the time each course takes. . In the case of the development of applications for the Internet with GeneXus course the term is a month. ‘We do not believe that this replaces the normal courses, but that this is another option’, Pereiro outlined. ‘It is necessary to be present and sit for an examination to get the certificates, though’, she explained.
The new Training site provides all the information regarding GeneXus courses, whatever their modality should be. In the normal courses you are given a calendar with its respective topics, and regarding the courses on the Internet, for example, you are explained how to study, what courses are provided, etc.
The next courses on the Internet to be released are about Java and Data Warehousing technologies, Pereiro announced.
