TechNet Informática is a software house that has developed
more than 15 products in the last five years using GeneXus technology. Its
solutions have already conquered an outstanding position in the Brazilian
logistic market, and two of the main companies in the air freight market segment
are among its clients. The air freight market is controlled by three large
companies, and two of them are Technet's clients: Vaspex, a net of authorized
dealers of Viação Aérea São Paulo, and Varilog, a net of authorized dealers of
Varig.
The challenge now is to obtain the same success among the
companies of land transport services with the help of the 100% Web-based Rodolog
system, developed with GeneXus 8.0 .NET generator. TechNet went into business in
1998 and adopted GeneXus as the development tool from the beginning. "The
reasons for choosing GeneXus were always very clear to us: portability, lower
cost of the final solution and increase of development productivity," emphasized
Henrique Umeoka, director of the company. According to Umeoka, his constant
follow-up of the market allows him to say that there has not appeared another
tool offering so much flexibility and adaptability.
Rodolog is a 100% Web-based system addressed to land
transport service companies. "We have invested in Rodolog because companies in
the logistic market segment are realizing that the investment in trucks is not
enough. Technology is essential to avoid being left behind by the competition,"
explains Umeoka.
The system works with a centralized data bank (DBMS
Microsoft SQL Server) and Web interfaces, allowing remote access and integration
among all the subsidiaries. In addition, it includes a tracking feature so the
client can access the information about its cargo, payments, etc. Due to
Rodolog's current success, we can say that the system fits the needs of the
transport service companies, said the director.
