In Uruguay, ANDA takes a step towards modernization and adopts K2B Health

ANDA is a Uruguayan company founded 76 years ago with the purpose of providing a wide range of services to members, such as health care, monetary credits, legal counsel, guarantees for rental leases, social tourism and other types of assistance with a solidarity side to it.

The association recently opened a new medical clinic in Montevideo, where it has chosen to resort to K2B Health – for computerizing medical records and getting rid of paper files – as part of the equipment for its modern facilities. Throughout December 2009, the team of K2B Health professionals made a study of functional requirements and the implementation of the system will take place later this year.

In this short time working on the project, the K2B Health work team has managed to captivate ANDA’s authorities. According to Elisa Facio, Director of the company’s IT Department, “the unassuming manners are the most pleasant part of this. We all feel very comfortable doing our work because of the knowledge and proficiency the team has shown in what regards health care matters”.

ANDA’s main objective is to reach the stage of electronic medical records. However, the study revealed the convenience of renewing other satellite systems – like the pharmacy service, medical appointment coordination, and the nursing system, among others – as well. The challenge lying ahead is then to implement a single system to enable the company to have, for all members, unified information consisting of both medical and commercial data.

The technologies selected for this project are Java, GeneXus X Evolution 1 and Informix Database.
