| | | K2B Health at Teletón: Online medical records and Web coordination system |
|
Teletón continues to incorporate new technology to the services it provides to patients and to the day-to-day work of health professionals by implementing online medical records. As part of this migration to the Web platform, it starts 2009 by offering users a new coordination system. |
In 2006 GeneXus Consulting provided Teleton Foundation with a system that enabled them to meet the operational needs of the Teletón Rehabilitation Center, which was starting operations at that time. The system, called GXsalud, made it possible to update essential processes to make the Center's management more efficient, including Medical Records, Medical Management and Business Management.
In 2007 new features were added to GXsalud so it was necessary to migrate the Knowledge Base engineered in a Win environment to the Web platform. The platform migration was undertaken so as to keep evolving with the GXsalud product towards K2B Health, taking advantage of the improved performance of Web developments.
Thus, the operational features –Medical Record, Medical Management and Business Management– started to be migrated to the Web.
The first stage of this Win to Web migration consisted of the Medical Record implementation.
In early 2009 the new Web coordination system became operational at Teletón. This coordination system involves the creation of a calendar with the schedules of each one of the professionals working at the center, in order to coordinate appointments for all patients. The medical calendar and coordination are made in such a way as not to waste the professionals' time or that of the children receiving care. As a result, each child goes to the office one day for a number of hours with no need to wait in between appointments.
Teletón is now in the second stage towards completing its Web system, thus establishing a solid base for its work with the physically disabled while relying on the cutting-edge technology of K2B Health.
