Porto Seguro Seguros, an insurance company based in
Uruguay, had a static Web, which gave access to various applications for its
brokers and garages, but which was not updated frequently. In just one month the
company developed a Web site with a new look and feel and posted it on line with
more applications for brokers and garages.
"Our company has always been known for its dynamic outlook
in all aspects. Technology was one of them, so in addition to changing the
design, we needed a different structure that could support the new contents and
especially offer important improvements for our web users, who are mainly
Consultant Brokers", pointed out Richard Torosian, Head of Porto Seguro Systems
Department, who provided more details about the change.
From GXPortal, about 400 users of the new Porto Seguro Web
have access to 15 applications. GXportal performs the security control using
Single Sign On, for which the tool reuses information about the users previously
stored in Porto Seguros data basis. This way, brokers and garages enter the
Porto Seguros site with their regular data and GXportal validates the users
rights against the original data base.
In addition to simplifying the site maintenance, Porto
Seguros has integrated a new Virtual Office for insurance brokers. "We have
introduced a new work format for Consultant Brokers, the "Virtual Office" where
they access a battery of features, some of which were previously available but
that have now been organized with a more intelligent structure", reported
Torosian.
"After researching the market, we selected GXPortal
because this tool provides us with the ideal structure for our contents and
improves implementation and maintenance times substantially", he added.
