Smart Routing is developed with GeneXus 8.0 in Java, and
will be added as a module of the full Web version for the coming Truck/GX 4.0
distribution and sales suite, called Global Truck.
The Smart Routing system works through a standard
interface that uses a Web service based on GIS technology (Geographic
Information Systems), offered by Ingenieros Consultores Asociados (ICA).
The Web service developed by ICA provides the necessary
geocodes and visualization to map the points of sale, and assigns the sequence
and schedule for the sales calls based on geographic criteria while keeping in
mind the sales volume and representatives available. Smart Routing makes use of
this service and delivers the list of clients and related information to Truck,
explained Héctor Ocampo, a leading consultant for Smart Routing.
The use of a standard interface (Web Services) enables the
communication between any product and service. The system is now developed with
GeneXus in Java, makes use of the ICA service and connects to the current Truck
version generated in Visual Fox Pro, and everything is done through the Web
Services, pointed out Carlos Marzoa, Global Truck project manager.
Besides the sale of the module itself, Smart Routing is
marketed on Solur's clients demand, offering the service whenever necessary,
informed Marzoa.
Solur is a software house specialized in developing Sales,
Distribution and Logistics applications. Some of its clients are distributing
companies of massive consumption products in the beverage, food, macro snacks
and pharmaceutical industries.
