The new beta version of GeneXus Next Is now available!

Currently, GeneXus Next is available only to beta testers. Its global release is scheduled for the first quarter of 2025.

The new GeneXus Next update is now available to beta testers, granting them exclusive early access to the platform's latest innovations.

The new edition of GeneXus, set to launch in the first quarter of 2025, revolutionizes software development within the GeneXus ecosystem with the incorporation of Generative Artificial Intelligence. With this technology, developers can describe the system they need using natural language, in their own language, and with their own words. Based on this description, GeneXus automatically generates the entire system, making the process more intuitive, agile, and efficient.

GeneXus Next democratizes software development by enabling any user, from experienced developers to Citizen Developers, to create complex applications without requiring advanced technical knowledge. This fosters innovation, accelerates digital transformation, and expands possibilities for organizations of all sizes, redefining the software development landscape.

GeneXus Next is the world's first and only Low-Code software development platform to integrate Symbolic AI, Deterministic Code Generation with Probabilistic AI, and Generative AI. This allows businesses to create AI-powered applications in an agile, secure, and future-proof way.

“This release marks a significant milestone for GeneXus Next and our entire community, introducing innovative advancements in AI-driven development and Agentic application modeling capabilities, setting a new benchmark in the world of Enterprise Low-Code platforms. From now on, we are transitioning to a weekly release cycle, ensuring continuous progress as we move closer to the highly anticipated official launch of GeneXus Next,” says Armin Bachmann, Product Manager at GeneXus.

Features and Benefits of GeneXus Next

1. Multiplatform: more accessible than ever

GeneXus Next now supports Mac, Windows and Linux. This was made possible by completely rewriting the GeneXus core in .NET 8.0 and transitioning to a fully 64-bit environment, expanding its reach to a more diverse audience.

2. Modern and redesigned interface

The user interface (UI) has been completely rebuilt using modern web technologies. Dark mode is another new feature, designed to enhance user experience, especially in intensive work environments.
Additionally, GeneXus Next introduces the Mercury design system, which is open-source, providing flexibility and adaptability to the IDE.

3. Artificial Intelligence integrated at every level

  • GeneXus Next is equipped with AI assistants that facilitate the creation of GeneXus objects, such as entities (Transaction objects) and processes (Procedure, API, and even Agent objects). These assistants simplify modeling tasks, optimizing the development process.

  • You can also incorporate AI into the applications you develop using tools like Agent objects, the Embedding data type, the Chat User Control, and Agentic Workflows.

  • Globant Enterprise AI support ensures scalability of AI capabilities in the generated solutions and independence from language model providers, regions, and clouds.

4. Improved text editors

Objects like Transactions and SDT now feature text editors, allowing you to write or copy definitions directly from other objects. Enjoy optimized design editors and significantly faster performance across all operations.

5. Simple and flexible installation

GeneXus Next adapts to your needs with hybrid usage options, cloud-running components like GeneXus Next Start, and others, such as the development environment, running locally for greater control and knowledge management.
