A new look and more services for the GXOpen .NET version

(13/08/2002-00:00)
GXOpen, a site where GeneXus , or GeneXus -related developments may be exchanged among community users, has changed its looks and has added new services into its version for .NET

GXOpen stemmed from the idea of turning business objects into open-source projects. The business objects released by ARTech are pieces of a knowledge base that allow people who are starting to develop an application to have part of the programming already worked out.

GXOpen offers you a gamut of possibilities, from tools required in order to perform a specific operation to a complete knowledge base for solving bigger types of problems. The GXOpen community is made up of 200 members; it has more than 100 projects, and more than 10,000 downloads to date.

The new GXOpen version, generated with C#, has a new product look and offers new features. The most popular projects, and the latest projects to have been either entered or modified, are published in the GXOpen's homepage as Web Services -they can be accessed by using XML.

Moreover, from now on, members of a specific project will receive a notice each time a project is either updated or a new version is uploaded or when a new message is added into the forum of a given project.
Users may subscribe by selecting categories that will allow them to receive a notice each time a project, under their preferred categories, is either created or updated.
As far as the dynamics of the GXOpen forum are concerned, from now on published messages will be delivered by e-mail.

In addition to that, the home page will offer a list of the more active members, featuring the names of those users who have contributed the most to the site. GXOpen members are also welcome to share their opinions on the projects that they have downloaded, by entering their comments as a review.
