Introduction: In GeneXus version 7.5, the Internet generators include transactions to be executed in a navigator, in addition to the Web Panel object, which is already available in GeneXus 7.0. The Web transactions allow a great data entry power to be available in Internet applications.
Scope:
Objects: Transactions
Languages: C/SQL, Java, Visual Basic, C#
Interface: Web
Description
The Web transactions are not a new type of GeneXus object, but a new way for traditional transactions to be executed in navigators.
The advantage of these transactions is that they facilitate the distribution of the application, which only requires the navigator installed in the client.
They also facilitate the design of Web applications because they allow input of data without defining Web Panels and Procedures to resolve this, automatically performing all the controls of referential integrity, generation of "prompts", etc.
To design this new Web form, which is what will be seen on Internet environments, you use the same HTML editor as in the design of Web Panels.
In addition, the possibility of defining events and rules for a form is implemented, that is to set the conditions for the execution of rules or events of an (HTML) Web form or GUI(Windows).
As a result of this, the same transaction object can be generated for both environments without the requirement to duplicate objects. You can read more about this topic in:
