ARTech added the Web Components, one of Solis version's new features, to GeneXus developers' site. This way, they have reduced the site's development and maintenance cost .............................. |
When you develop an application there are usually many parts that can be used again in several objects. The Web Components' objective is to allow a great grade of these components' re-usage reducing the applications' development and maintenance cost. The 'Web Components' are Web Panels that have a property that indicates that they are components. This means that they can be executed by themselves as well as any other Web Panel or they can be a part of another Web Panel object or Web Transaction, so they allow GeneXus Web applications' designers a great possibility of reusing this objects. Any part of a Web Panel that repeats in several Web Panels or Web Transactions of an application can be defined as a Web Component. In the case of the technical area we have "componentized" the menu on the left and the top bar for the login. Instead of having the menu's load in each of the Web Panels that require it, for example, the idea is to program it only in a Web Component and to use it again on any Web Panel that requires a menu.
