Advansys is a company that provides consultancy and
software development services that has specialized in the automotive sector for
over seventeen years. Since 1992 the company has worked with GeneXus technology,
having among their staff professionals specializing in GeneXus, GXportal and
GXflow.
Advansys needed to solve their version management and
historical changes. The company has presence in five countries, so managing
their changes efficiently is key to the services they offer their
customers.
"The company is forced to manage multiple knowledge bases
in a controlled manner, for each one of our existing projects and their
different customizations according to each customer or the country of
implementation," said Alejandro Myszka of Advansys.
Advansys needed to substantially improve version
management of the models themselves in order to avoid errors and achieve a
higher level of efficiency both in relation to their own work as well as in
relation to customer submissions; prior to using GxTend -
this was solved through in-house developments and manual
techniques.
"GxTend is a very good product. In addition to all its
functionalities, it is a non-intrusive software within the framework of
Advansys' operations.
It has not been necessary to modify the way the
development team works. On the contrary, the software has adapted to Advansys
and has enabled us to manage the versioning and the model itself depending on
the stage of the project.
Alejandro Myszka highlighted specifically the advantages
that GxTend offers: versioning of the application's entire knowledge (not only
that of the objects in the knowledge base), the non-intrusive working
methodology and the full-web interface.
