Founded in 1986, CHB Informática is located in the city of
Franca/SP, and is dedicated exclusively to the development of ERPS for the shoe
industry and sugar and alcohol plants. Currently, the company has 40 employees
and around 200 clients in the States of Sao Paulo, Paraná, Minas Gerais, Santa
Catarina, Goias, Pará, Mato Grosso, Pernambuco, Ceará, and Mato Grosso do Sul.
The products developed by CHB total 25 modules that range from human resources,
accounting and invoicing to the industrial and agricultural areas.
When they decided to use GeneXus and GXplorer, CHB
Informática gained agility in the development of its 25-module ERP. "We
developed the systems in just three years. When we chose GeneXus, we actually
created an association with ARTech, where they focus on technological updates
and we are exclusively devoted to our business, with total confidence that any
technological need will be quickly matched by the tool", said Mário Arias
Martinez, partner and director of CHB.
The systems developed by the company cover the areas of
human resources (payroll, "ponto eletrônico," PPP, PCMSO, recruitment and rural
page), administration (accounting, tax records, financial, current accounts,
invoicing, sales, purchases and stock), production (PCP, external sales
management, industrial maintenance and fleet control), agriculture (agricultural
costs, scale, industrial laboratory, sucrose laboratory, freight and service
control, and agricultural contracts), BI (Business Intelligence), and
Web.
At the beginning, CHB worked on COBOL, but due to the need
to use the different databases and platforms available in the market, as well as
new graphic technologies, BI and Web, it had to change the development tool and
start using Delphi. "At that point, we encountered difficulties in portability,
standardization and training of professionals. Then when we analyzed GeneXus and
found the solution for all these problems" states Carlos Henrique de Barros,
partner and director of the company. "As our company's focus is to develop
applications for our clients' businesses, our greatest research need is
addressing the operating process of our segments. For this reason, we should not
depart from this focus by worrying about new technologies and language changes",
adds Martinez.
Currently, CHB estimates that approximately 2,000 users
take advantage of the systems created for its about 200 clients. "In our case
the result is very significant. We are confident to say that if we had not
chosen GeneXus, it would have been impossible to develop our systems within the
time and costs frameworks we had. Additionally, we find it easy to control and
maintain our applications, which was a very complex task with the previous
technologies", says Barros.
