(30/12/2003-00:00)
With GeneXus ADO.NET generator #1 Upgrade it is possible to use ADO.NET as a means to access the DBMS in both Windows (GUI) and Web applications.

With GeneXus .NET 8.0 generator #1 Upgrade, new features for this generator start in betatest process:

- Database access through ADO.NET

- Generation of distributed applications in Windows environment.

Besides, the ODBC access and the generation of Windows and Web applications released with GeneXus 8.0 version are kept in the same generator.

With these features, GeneXus .NET users obtain several advantages. They have more features available, such as caching of queries to the database, generation of multi-tier Windows applications and access to more applications monitoring tools. It is to be pointed out that the generation of distributed applications in Windows environment allows for the optimization of resources and provides the applications with more scalability.

Besides, a better proven performance is obtained and, at technological level, DBMS access via ADO.NET implies using 100% ".NET managed code."
