ARTech and Microsoft launched the early adoption program of technologies (EAP) joined by 15 companies coming from Honduras, Costa Rica, and Guatemala, with a total of 17 GeneXus applications development projects for the .NET platform. |
Out of the 15 companies participating in the EAP (http://dotnet.gxtech.com.uy/home/hLatest_adopters.aspx) of Central America, 10 will be using GeneXus for the first time in this experience. ARTech and GeneXus Central America will provide training and support for the development of these projects expected to be finished by March, next year, upon Microsoft´s release of the .NET platform. Universidad Católica, Banco Ficensa, Energua S.A, Fanaprovi, and Hondutel are the five Honduran companies participating in the early adoption program of technologies. Exis; the Ministry of Finance, Dole Fresh Fruit Int'l; The Central American Monetary Council, Tecnisys; Sistemas Latinoamericanos Siglo XXI, S.A., and the National Council of Private-University Upper Education ( Conesup ) were the companies accepting the invitation in Costa Rica. Soft Corporation, Viacomp, and Servicios Continental SA are the Guatemalan companies developing GeneXus applications for the C# platform during this program.
Microsoft has been working on the launching of its new work platform, .NET, featuring a new programming language: C#. This technological change has pushed ARTech to work harder on its tools in order to make the GeneXus C# generator available for users. The aim of the early adoption program of technologies is to get companies to make hassle-free, and short-term applications developments with the GeneXus C# generator for the new Microsoft platform. Mr. Armin Bachmann (armin@artech.com.uy), - an engineer at ARTech responsible for the last successful EAP experience held this year, is in charge of the development of this program in Central America. Together with Microsoft, we will provide strong support for companies participating in this program so they can be some of the first companies to adopt the .NET platform in Central America, and to make developments with the GeneXus C# generator, said Nicolás Jodal, ARTech's Vice-president.
Companies participating in the program will receive logistic, and product support from Microsoft and ARTech, who will be granting them licenses of the C# generator and GeneXus 7.5 for this experience. ARTech and GeneXus Central America will offer training programs on these products to companies who still have not adopted the use of GeneXus as a development tool. The idea is to ease their way into the program in a friendly fashion.
