Echoes of DWShoot

During the 24-hour special course, we saw the theoretical concepts of DW components' implementation, which the participants applied to their own operational databases. 
The Datawarehousing (DW) component substitutes for a quantity of fix reports that today have to be implemented one by one. The component offers the final user a dynamic way to perform all the necessary reports for measuring management and business, based on the language that he/she is used to using.
In order to provide support for the software houses in the construction of the DW component on their operational databases efficiently, ARTech organized DWShoot in early June. During the special 24 hour  course, the theoretical concepts of DW components implementation was shown, which the participants applied to their operational databases. The technical level was exceptional and the methodology and technology were incorporated easily. There were no inconveniences in the implementation to speak of with the exception of some difficulties in certain groups when loading the data. 'We were prepared to be asked several questions, so we had quite a lot of instructors, and we thought that it was going to be difficult because everyone had a different and complex KB that we did not know'. ‘However, the queries received were far less than expected and the issues pertained to certain specific points', Mayda Kurdian, Course Instructor, commented.
When DWShoot ended, apart from incorporating this technology's knowledge, the clients left with a DW implemented on their operational database. The databases were aimed at varied applications such as sales management, machine maintenance management, learning institutes, production, payroll, costs, and others.  
'This is our first experience regarding this type of course, and we believe it was successful because it combined learning the technology with a real solution's implementation.
Additionally, it was an enriching experience for our technology because a couple of important needs for these specific client types (Software Houses) came up, and they may be implemented in the short term', Kurdian explained.
