GeneXus Peru Meeting took place for the 6th consecutive
year, organized by AB&AB Tecnologías de la Información. State-of-the-art
technological advances and success cases achieved with solutions made with
GeneXus were presented.
Among other lectures offered by GeneXus customers in Peru,
Mr. Raúl Alvarado presented the experience in the development of SEDALIB systems
strategic planning. Mr. Javier Morales, in charge of the IT area of Instituto
Nacional de Salud (INS) health institute, lectured about his experience in the
development of the INS portal, which allowed for the decentralization of content
administration to give each research center a suitable place for the diffusion
of their work and services. Additionally, Mr. Milton Gallegos, member of Albis
S.A. team, shared his experience in software development using GeneXus under a
RUP (Rational Unified Process) based methodological framework.
Oracle Peru attended and was represented by Carlos Romero,
who stressed their interest in working with GeneXus developers from Peru and
showed the new developments of Oracle 10g.
On the other hand, Mr. Javier Dazzo, TMM consultant,
lectured about the real change in organizations and the patterns making it
possible, and Mr. Max Ugaz, Director of Corvus (International Center of the
Digital Organization of the University of San Martín de Porres) lectured on "The
digital production mode".
Ugaz pointed out that wealth currently depends mainly on
intangibles incorporated to products and therefore our success lies on the
amount of intangible that we sell to consumers. "Nowadays, digitalized
knowledge, freed from mass, time and space, has the capacity to generate wealth
and is found in the brains of talents", stated the director of Corvus.
Additionally, Mr. Eugenio García, Manager of ARTech's
products GXflow and GXportal, presented an overview of the Workflow solution and
the features that GXflow 9.0 will include. Using real cases, he also talked
about the flexibility of GXportal as the element integrating the information and
the applications through an electronic portal.
On his part, AB&AB team talked about GeneXus 9.0, NET
Remoting in 100% GeneXus Applications, GeneXus and Web Services, GXplorer and
Gxquery; the development of smarter Web applications adding AJAX to GeneXus
among several other topics. Also, the team presented their customer service,
GAC-GX, which offers all GeneXus users in Peru a centralized location where they
can ask questions on AB&AB products and services.
At the end of the day Engineer Aldo Canales pointed out
that "GeneXus Peru Community, coming from different parts of the country, is
satisfied of having participated in this 4th Meeting and has been able to see
that GeneXus is a tool to build complex systems that are hard to build
manually".
