First Truck/GX client in Mexico

(16/07/2002-00:00)
The multinational Cadbury Bebidas México (with headquarters in London) has adopted Truck/GX, Solur's product, in order to handle sales and distribution operations throughout the country.

Cadbury Schweppes, the mother company of Cadbury Schweppes Bebidas México, is an international company founded 200 years ago. The company has developed large markets and distributed brand drinks and products such as Cadbury, Schweppes, Dr. Pepper, Snapple, Trebor, and Bassett. In 1992, Cadbury Schweppes acquired Manantiales Peñafiel, the Mexican bottled-water company, founded in 1928, in order to create Cadbury Schweppes Bebidas México. This company currently has more than 3,000 employees, three factories, and 15 distribution centers throughout Mexico.
Miguel González Izmendi from Solur, reported that Truck/GX has already started production at the Naucalpan distribution center, and that the contract has determined the Rollout into the 15 distribution centers for the next six months.

Truck/GX has been incorporated into Cadbury Schweppes Bebidas México in order to implement an integral system that would standardize direct distribution processes. This measure seeks to obtain precise information and deeper knowledge of the market, so that appropriate and timely decision-making will help to focus the company resources in order to increase profitability, reduce costs, and raise the level of customer satisfaction.
Truck/GX is a specialized system for distributors developed with GeneXus - that features: a) sales and delivery routing; b) multiple electronic capturing media and an automatic validation order manual; c) inventory control; d) delivery preparation; e) invoicing; f) cash; g) accounts receivable; h) price lists and sales policies. Users handle all of these in a flexible way through immediate application.

The installation of Truck/GX in Mexico has been executed  in a client-server architecture with three central regional servers, and an Oracle database. For clientrelated installation, the application has been generated with GeneXus in Visual Fox Pro, whereas for server-related installation it has been generated in C-SQL.
González Izmendi added that the agreement with Cadbury Schweppes Bebidas México allows for a second stage which will start next year in which the use of Truck/GX will be extended to the handling of the indirect distribution that is accomplished through the participation of some 400 distributors.

As far as Solur is concerned, we can say that it has specialized on the drinks, food, and pharmaceutical industries, and that it has focused on the development, support, and commercialization of TRUCK/GX for the last 15 years. The company has more than 100 facilities in Latin America. Sudy Lever, Frito Lay Chile, BAESA (Pepsi Arg.), Cervecería y Maltería Quilmes, CYMPAY (Ambev Group), Gistbrocades, Sherwin Williams Argentina, and Industrial Cervecera Nicaragüense are some of the company clients.
Penafiel Agua Mineral, Penafiel Sabores, Dietafiel, Aguafiel, Etiqueta Azul, Orange Crush, Canada Dry, Schweppes, Dr. Pepper, Clamato, and Jugos Mott, are some of the main brands distributed by Cadbury Schweppes Bebidas México.
