In December, the GeneXus Community gathered once again in the Land of the Rising Sun. The announcements related to Smart Devices and the news that GXtest and the GeneXus certification exams would soon be available in Japanese were welcomed with enthusiasm. |
To end the year of GeneXus events worldwide, a new edition of GeneXus Day was held in Japan on December 7. It was a very special occasion with the attendance of Nicolás Jodal, Artech's Vice President, who spoke about the new possibilities introduced by GeneXus to develop applications for Smart Devices: GeneXus X Evolution 2 and SDX.
The most important announcement for the Japanese Community at the local level was the fact that work is underway to make GXtest and online GeneXus certification exams available in Japanese in the first quarter of 2011. In addition, Nicolás Jodal talked extensively about the new GeneXus clients in Japan: DR. Coffe, IT Frontier and NEC. Following was a presentation by NEC Informatec Systems, LTD, given by its Software Production General Manager, Minari Kai, who spoke about the evaluation processes that led to GeneXus being chosen over other options for the internal development of a HR solution (Read the article here). Another Success Story was that of Toyo University, presented in a talk given by Inoue Toshio, HR Manager at the University, who introduced the HR solution developed with GeneXus, its needs and advantages compared to legacy applications. (Read the article here). In turn, Toshikazu Yokoi from GeneXus Japan INC. gave an enjoyable talk in which he showcased Uruguay and shared his vision of the XX GeneXus Meeting. Lastly, he made demos of GXtest and how to generate applications for Smart Devices. Coming soon: GeneXus Users Group in Japan! Mitsubishi Engineer Kenji Katsumata took advantage of the enthusiasm generated by the meeting to jump-start the creation of a GUG Japan with the purpose of sharing local experiences in the use of GeneXus.
