Other new features:
Private objects
Since this version it is possible to distribute objects in a 'private' mode, this means that the one that receives that distribution will be able to consolidate it in a knowledge base, specify, generate, etc. the object/s but he will not be able to access its source.
GXOffice
Sets of features for interacting with MS Office have been included (sending mails with Outlook, generating Word files, Excel spreadsheets, etc.), apart from some features of a lower level such as sending mails with SMTP, POP3, etc. Although these features existed in former versions, they have been improved and officially released in this GeneXus version.
Display Mode in transactions
As there was Insert, Update and Delete modes, in this version we include the Display mode.
Multiple connections per model
It is possible to get connected with more than one database from the same GeneXus model.
Storage compression
The knowledge bases can be 'compressed' for them to occupy less room in the disk.
C installation's improvements
We have developed a 'wizard' for installing C support routines.
XML recording functions
We have started the development of features for managing XML. The ones available in this version allow recording an XML message. In future versions, we will go deeper into the same ones, allowing reading, etc.
Functions for managing documents
Independently from the GXOFFICE it is possible to manage 'documents' directly from the application like the Windows Explorer does. This means that you can print, open, etc. a document by invoking the program associated to it.
Lists in XML
GeneXus lists have been converted to XML format, and with this, it is possible to 'navigate' among the lists and to go, for example, from a tables' list to the particular information of an attribute by using the link provided for that.
Loading list of objects to be distributed from a file
The list of objects to be distributed can be read from a file. With this, the repetitive processes of distribution of a group of objects, etc. do not oblige us to select them every time, but they can be maintained in this list.
'model preferences' Save/Load
The preferences of a model can be saved to a file and then 'read' in another model. With this, it is possible to copy the preferences from one model to another one easily.
LVChar Maximum Length
The maximum used to be 9999 characters, but it has been increased. The limit value depends on the platform.
OLEDB Grid Support in VB
The OLEDB Grid (MD Data Grid) included with VB 6.0 is supported. With this, acquiring the Sheridan Grid for the VB clients is not necessary anymore.
Reports output to file
It is possible to send a report's output directly to file.

Now we are in the process of copying the CD of GeneXus (7.0) last version. We think we are going to start that CD's distribution to all the local clients and distributors of the entire world at the end of next week.
