Datalogic Software implemented its solution for payroll
and Human Resources systems in Grupo Disco Uruguay, the merger of Disco, Devoto
and Géant supermarket chains which together have over 5,000
employees.
To carry out this Project, Datalogic Software worked
together with the KPMG Uruguay team in the initial consulting stages. A strong
synergy and teamwork were achieved by the three companies participating in the
project, as well as excellent personal rapport, pointed out Alvaro Faravelli,
from the Marketing Department of Datalogic.
One of the pillars for the success of the experience was
the project management methodology, with weekly progress monitoring meetings,
decision assessment, task definition and assignment of responsibilities. The
work methodology enabled the development of an integral vision of activity
planning and its progress, added Faravelli.
The reasons that led the group to select the GIRH Human
Resources and GIRH payroll systems were, according to Agustín Castelli, System
Manager of Grupo Disco Uruguay, the high level of alignment with the well-known
Franklin Covey methodology, the best cost-benefit relation in the market and the
system's coverage of most of the needs of the company's Human Resources
Department.
Also, the operational possibilities of the systems were
also factors in the decision making process, since difficulties had to be
initially overcome due to the existence of two different systems for the payroll
and Human Resources management of the three companies in the group, as well as
the lack of interconnection between the activities carried out so far.
The Datalogic systems not only solved these aspects but
they also greatly simplified the management of related tasks such as the
transfer of a worker from the applicant listing to the payroll with the push of
a button and it also offered new paths to continue improving the company's Human
Resources management, explained Faravelli.
Running the systems in a Web environment presented a
challenge for the client company since this was the first Web application
installed in it. "The experience was successful because the system has a
user-friendly interface, and also because of Datalogic willingness to carry out
changes that improved the system's usability", Faravelli highlighted. The
development carried out with GeneXus 8.0 for the .Net platform enabled a more
efficient programming to respond to our client's needs, he added.
This is another example where the ERP systems show their
flexibility and integrating capacity, aligned with the constant improvement
model used by both Datalogic and Grupo Disco Uruguay.
