The Patterns utility ?now in its Beta 3 version- can
generate, based on the GeneXus Transaction and the "Work With" pattern, the
objects required for a Web GeneXus application that behaves according to that
pattern.
Thanks to the Patterns utility, In-Style Software
completed the Windows to Web migration of an online catalog back end that
enables Internet shopping in just three days. "We had estimated the conversion
time without patterns in 10 days. It took us just 3 days with patterns,
including the learning curve," pointed out Sergio Prusky, founding associate of
In-Style Software. GeneXus patterns were used to automate the migration of the
Win-based master tables to a Web environment: products, colors, sizes, countries
and customers, he added.
The application was developed with GeneXus 8.0 for the
Microsoft .NET platform. It has about 300 GeneXus objects and the front end was
already in a Web environment, but it was necessary to have a Web-based back end
to facilitate service to remote customers, explained Diego Prusky, In-Style
Software's project manager. In addition, he said that the company is planning to
integrate this application to GXportal.
In-Style Software (http://www.instylesoft.com) is a software
development company specialized in ERP, consulting and outsourcing services for
the clothing industry. Special Hosting is an In-Style Software department that
provides hosting services to GeneXus applications and ASP services for
In-Style.
