CHB Informática is a Brazilian company with 20 years in the market that works in the development and marketing of ERP and industrial software. The company specializes in the shoe, sugar and alcohol mill and metallurgical sectors. It has now 200 client companies and 40 employees and their systems have a total of nearly 3,000 users.
Some of their clients are in the shoe industry: Ferracini, Free Way, Mariner, Pé de Ferro, Ferrucci, Lia Line, Mariotta, Carmen Steffens. In the sugar and alcohol mill sector: Barralcool, Viralcool Pitangueiras, Santa Isabel, Bertolo, Floralcool and Carolo. And in the metallurgical sector: Planusi, Mecsul and Poppi Máquinas.
All the CHB Informática systems have been developed with GeneXus and they use the following databases: Oracle, SQL Server, DB2 IBM and Postgree SQL. Their ERP knowledge base is composed of 14,000 GeneXus objects generated for Visual Basic and Java in Web.
The entire ERP includes the following systems: Human Resources Cycle, Manufacturing Cycle, Fiscal and Tax Cycle, Financial Cycle, Sugar-Alcohol Agricultural Cycle. The company also develops and markets Business Intelligence solutions, customized software and Web applications.
New subsidiary in Sao Paulo
CHB has recently inaugurated a subsidiary in Sao Paulo that joins the one located in Franca, within Sao Paulo state.
The recent inauguration of the new subsidiary in the capital city of the state is linked to CHB's future plans, since the company intends to grow 30% in the next two years. "Our plans include the expansion of our area of activity in Brazil, with a growth of 30% in the next two years and 50% in the next four years," reported Mario Arias, Director of CHB.
GeneXus in CHB
Arias told us that CHB worked "from 1986 to 1998 with Cobol and with the arrival of the databases and Windows systems we had to choose another development platform. That's how we started our work with Delphi. But then ,"when we sought to improve productivity and portability we decided to change the tool" and after doing market research they decided to adopt GeneXus.
"Our decision was very wise because with this choice from that moment on, all our technological needs have been greatly satisfied by GeneXus and we have stayed focused on the development of our applications", stated CHB Informática Director. The company is currently remodeling their Web site with GXportal. It is remodeling its customer service system and its technical support and it is generating its products on Java.
