GeneXus Yi Beta 2 New
Features
Business Components (BCs)
Business Components are included to use
Transactions' Business Logic. Business Components (BCs) provide a way to use all
the power of transactions from other GeneXus Objects, and to invoke them without
the need for a user interface.
Web client-side validation
In this version, GeneXus generates
client-side code (JavaScript) in Web applications. Many rules are triggered in
the browser, avoiding a roundtrip to the server. And you don't need to know
Javascript.
Nulls property
You can set whether an attribute allows null values or not. GeneXus
uses this knowledge to improve Referential Integrity controls and to generate
faster programs.
New Call Syntax and Tooltips
Instead of call('program',parameters), write
program.call(parameters) and enjoy intellitips and tooltips when calling
programs.
Intellitips in Functions and Rules
While writing rules or functions, intellitips are
shown to provide better usability.
MySQL
MySQL
support has been added to the .NET Generator. The connection method used is
ADO.NET.
Enterprise Java Beans
Now your Enterprise Java Beans LWU, generated by Java, can be
managed by the EJB Container.
GeneXus. NET Mobile
With this new version of the .NET Mobile generator you can create
and deploy your applications more easily.
Optimized Updates
Mass updates to the database have been optimized.
Sign Database Updates
New model properties are available to specify which program to call
before and/or after each commit or rollback. This is very helpful in Web and
three-tier applications to sign the actions taken on the database when a LWU is
completed.
New SQL Syntax for Oracle 9.x
GeneXus supports ANSI/ISO SQL 1999 syntax for
Joins in Oracle 9 or higher.
Other improvements to the Development
Environment
Several features have been
added to the Development Environment, including:
- Data Area, a new control for Web styles
- Delete multiple objects
- More events available in rules
