Problem: Expanding
the monitoring of local advertising campaigns - checking the
transmission of TV spots- from 2 cities to 63. The local
campaign monitoring system has already been implemented in Guadalajara and
Monterrey, and has been manually processed in Mexico City.
Solution: Manual activities were analyzed. GXFlow,
GeneXus .NET and GXplorer were used to implement an automated
method for recording information and monitoring local campaigns.
Ibope México generates TV ratings, monitors and analyzes advertising
spending, measures radio audience, and provides blocking services and data
mining software, among other services.
The
need for information to measure the effectiveness of the processes that monitor
local campaigns in 63 cities, as well as the need to control the timing and
quality of activities related to the service, led Ibope to implement a Workflow
system to manage the monitoring of local campaigns.
The company chose
GXFlow -ARTech's Workflow tool- to build its solution. Alberto Varela from Mera,
GeneXus distributor in Mexico, claims that this tool integrates the application
jointly with the work flow. It is easy to learn, consistent with new software
development technologies, and facilitates the export of data stored in a
pre-defined Data Warehouse.
The
process begins with the delivery of information -videos in AVI format,
containing the broadcast programming- that is transported in traveling discs to Mexico City, from any of the 63 other
cities. Once there, two of the activities carried out are quality control checks
on the recordings, which are turned into digital video format, and broadcast
monitoring. All sub-processes involved in the monitoring comply with ISO 9001
norms.
"This
is the first project that gives us control over the activities of all of Ibope
Mexico's areas. This tool will give us a competitive advantage for the
monitoring of (political) campaigns carried out by the Electoral Federal
Institute," said Enrique Díaz Escobedo, Ibope AGB México's Systems Development
Manager.
