The focus of this new version has been to renew and empower the user interface while offering an enhanced user experience.
The addition of AJAX technology to the interface allows the user to perform drag & drop operations for designing and building his pages. It also makes it possible to perform actions in a more agile way because it is not always necessary to reload the whole page or form.
In addition, we have worked on empowering a feature known as SEO (Search Engine Optimization), that is, improving the indexing of contents and pages published through our websites. Something that has been added is the use of Friendly URLs, so that they use descriptions that provide search engines with more information. The generation of the URL Canonical Tag, keywords and meta-description by pages, and more semantic code are also improvements in this regard.
Besides the Site Map, which allows users to easily publish the navigation structure of the portal, new GXportlets have also been incorporated to improve websites developed using GXportal, including one portlet for publishing videos, another for publishing an image gallery and several others related to the integration of Google services such as Google Maps and Gadgets.
We have arrived at this stage with the collaboration of more than 200 beta testers who have contributed and collaborated with the process of building this new version. In the following weeks we will be fine-tuning a new website where this version will be made available in SaaS mode.
Stay tuned for the upcoming release of GXportal 5.0 SaaS!
