The files with extension gxw*.00* (log files) must be searched in the root directory of the GeneXus installation. Its name is made up by:
gxwvvvnprod
.NNNWhere:
- vvv is the number of the version, that is, 601 or 201
- nprod is the name of the generator (dev, vb, vf, etc.)
- NNN is the name of the Patch.
For example: gxwvb.002 is the log file corresponding to patch 2 of the Visual Basic generator.
From now on a new method will be used to build patches. This new method can register .dll or .ocx files and modify the directories of the system (windows or windows\system). Thanks to this, the Nsetup patches can be eliminated (Workstation Setup or Node Setup). It will be necessary to apply the patch in each machine client in those GeneXus installed in network.
The same happens when a new machine client is installed, it is necessary to apply the Nsetup (installs the dlls the client needs) and the last patch of each generator (updates or adds the dlls installed with the Nsetup).
In addition to this, this new method makes possible to edit the log files and verify which files that patch updated.
