(25/03/2002-00:00)
After hiring a new commercial manager at the beginning of the year, NewTech -one of GeneXus distributors in Brazil- has set out to give a professional touch to operations of its outlet network. The company is aiming at US$ 500 worth of sales for 2002.

NewTech started a commercial project seeking to distribute, promote, and sell GeneXus in its outlet network located in Rio de Janeiro, Matto Grosso, Paraná, Curitiba, Santa Catarina, Rio Grande do Sur, and Ceara.
"The objective of this project is to make the work of software houses that are part of this network more professional, to walk them through the goals set for those regions, and to keep a watch of the whole operation from Porto Alegre", Roque Lima, Commercial Manager at NewTech said.

Mr. Lima, who has worked in the IT commercial area for more than 30 years, joined NewTech at the beginning of the year. He has worked as a commercial manager at Bull, Elebra Computadoras, and ADP Systems, among other companies, and he has known the GeneXus tool since 1997.
"We intend to reach between US$ 400,000 and US$ 500,000 worth of sales this year", the new commercial manager assured. Mr. Lima reported that, currently, the company is going over the agreements that it has signed with its representatives, and signing new commercialization contracts. He also added that they are currently working with 350 prospects.

Likewise, Mr. Lima added that NewTech is trying to incorporate GeneXus in the field of Education. Currently, talks are being held with Pontificia Universidad
Catolica (PUC) of Porto Alegre, and the Federal University. The company is also in the process of incorporating GeneXus in the incubator project at the Technological Hub of Unisinos University, in which both the State and the private sector are participating. This is also likely to take place in other states members of the Federation.
