Worldwide research carried out by Gartner shows that the sale of mobile devices went over 140 billion dollars by August 2006 and the trend is for that figure to grow thanks to the existing infrastructure and decreasing cost of data transmissions.
In Brazil, specialists say that only 5% of the potential mobility market has been exploited, while very few companies offer specific solutions. CAS Consultoria is one of those visionary companies that have decided to “surf the mobile wave”.
The company has used the GeneXus tool for development and maintenance of its applications so for its mobile solutions it was a straightforward decision: The system would also be developed with GeneXus.
The result was the ERP Assessor Mobile, a module that in its first version generates queries about products, queries clients and issues and transmits sales orders, lending great agility to the commercial process.
The application is producing 25 PDA´s QTEC 9100 with direct communication by means of GPRS, using Windows Mobile 5.0 and PCC 2003, SQL Server 2005 and GeneXus 9.0 with .NET generator Mobile; for this process it has the support of Heurys Tecnología, GeneXus distributor in Brazil.
