Fabián Baptista (Abstracta) introduces the new feature offered by GXtest to generate performance tests in record time. |
If you have ever tried to make performance tests, most likely you know that it can't be done overnight and it generally involves a lot of work, especially the preparation of the tests where automation is the most complex task (in particular for systems developed with GeneXus).
For this reason, we’re announcing the release of a new GXtest feature that allows you to generate performance tests in record time, faster than with any other tool thanks to the capabilities provided by GXtest to let us accurately simulate the reality of the system we want to deploy.
Use cases of performance testing
In many situations, such as when our system must be accessible for many users working simultaneously on the server, if certain operations must be solved within established response times, or when resources are limited, performance testing is the only way to go. The only way in which we can find out how our system will behave is by simulating the work load while making use of the right tools.
The main reasons that may lead us to evaluate our system performance are as follows:
-
Deployment of a new system
-
Changing technologies (for instance, Win to Web migration)
-
Changing the hardware, architecture, DBMS or Operating System of a component
-
Release of a significant change made to the application
Key benefits:
-
Identify the minimum hardware necessary to support current needs.
-
Know and thus control:
-
Response times
-
Resource use (CPU, Memory, Disk, network, etc.)
-
Service interruptions
-
Failure recovery
We're very pleased with this great achievement that allows us to meet the needs of our clients in record time, while solving performance problems, providing a better service and helping users release new systems and new features with greater quality, less risk and lower costs.
