The Wiki reflects two basic concepts that represent the social Web: collaborative participation and knowledge society; they are both innovative undertakings that have been embraced by the GeneXus Community.
GXWiki (Wiki developed using GeneXus that can be
downloaded, adjusted and extended) was launched in 2006 together with the CommunityWiki and Artech's internal Wiki. Since then, GXWiki has turned out to be an essential communication tool for GeneXus' technical innovation, empowering and enriching the knowledge of the Community thanks to the collaborative participation of its members to create content. Today, 1,000 days after its creation, the CommunityWiki has 6,752 pages and 4,463 active members.
Not only Artech and the GeneXus Community use their own Wiki based on GXWiki, but also
large companies have adapted it to their needs; for example, Faber Castell (Brazil), Bantotal de De Larrobla (Uruguay), Legado IT (Argentina) or Concepto (Uruguay), among others in the region.
Your company or organization can create its own Wiki; to do so you only have to download it and generate it for your platform of choice. In addition, because the GXWiki is open source (collaborative project) and is developed with GeneXus, you can extend it or change the Knowledge Base as you wish. And if you want to contribute with those changes to the project, please go ahead and do it. Several other companies that have implemented it have already shared their customizations.
